Is a kitchen makeover right for my home?
Bespoke kitchen makeovers for homes across England and Wales
A makeover is ideal when the bones of your kitchen are sound, but the look no longer matches how you live.
We’ll usually recommend a makeover if:
- Your existing cabinets are structurally sound, even if the doors are dated.
- The layout largely works for you, but you’d like it to feel more considered.
- You want the look and feel of a new kitchen without weeks of building work.
- You’d like to invest in the parts you see and touch every day – doors, worktops, handles and finishing details.
During your initial conversation and design visit, we’ll always be honest. If a full refit would serve you better, we’ll explain why.
Our five-step makeover process
From the first conversation to the last adjustment, our process is designed to be clear, organised and respectful of your home.
1. Initial conversation
We start with a relaxed discussion – either over the phone or online.
- We listen to what you like and dislike about your current kitchen.
- We talk through whether a makeover is likely to be the right approach.
- We answer early questions about timescales, budget and how overlays and replacement doors work.
If it feels like a good fit, we’ll book your design visit.
2. Design visit & measurements
Your designer visits your home to see the kitchen in context.
- We take detailed measurements and note any structural considerations.
- You’ll see curated door styles, colour options and quartz overlay samples in person.
- Together, we explore different combinations so the doors, worktops and hardware feel like one considered scheme.
This is about shaping a kitchen that belongs to your home, not dropping in a catalogue look.
3. Detailed proposal
Following the visit, we prepare a clear, itemised proposal.
- A full breakdown of the work to be carried out.
- The specific door style, colour and finish you’ve chosen.
- The quartz overlay finish, edges, upstands and any splashbacks.
- Installation details and an indicative schedule.
There are no surprise extras tucked away in small print – everything is set out so you can make a confident decision.
4. Makeover & installation
When you’re ready to go ahead, we book your installation dates.
- Our specialist makeover team removes your existing doors, drawer fronts and worktops where needed.
- New doors, panels and trims are fitted, aligned and adjusted with care.
- 8mm solid quartz overlay worktops are templated, manufactured and fitted directly over your existing surfaces, with cut-outs for sinks and hobs.
- We protect floors and surrounding areas, keep disruption to a minimum and tidy as we go.
Most projects are completed over a few days rather than weeks, depending on the size and complexity of your kitchen.
5. Finishing touches & aftercare
The last few details make the difference.
- We walk through the finished kitchen with you, checking alignments, soft-close actions and overall finish.
- Any small snags are noted and addressed promptly.
- We provide guidance on caring for your new doors and quartz surfaces, and confirm the guarantees that apply.
Our aim is for the final day to feel like a handover, not just “the last day the fitters were here”.
What to expect during installation
We’ll talk you through specifics for your project, but typically you can expect:
- Clear arrival times – you’ll know which days we’re on site and roughly when we’ll arrive.
- Kitchen access maintained where possible – we’ll discuss how to keep essentials like the fridge and kettle usable.
- Respect for your home – floor protection, careful handling and a tidy work area at the end of each day.
- Regular updates – if anything unexpected arises (for example, hidden issues behind existing worktops), we’ll talk it through with you before proceeding.
If you’re planning other work at the same time – new flooring, decorating or lighting – we can coordinate our dates so everything runs smoothly.
Doors, quartz overlays and details working together
A successful makeover isn’t just about swapping parts; it’s about how those parts relate to each other.
- Doors – made-to-measure in your chosen style and colour, tailored to your existing cabinetry.
- Quartz overlay worktops – 8mm solid quartz, templated to fit over your current worktops, with optional upstands and splashbacks.
- Handles & hardware – chosen to complement both the door style and quartz, not as an afterthought.
- Finishing details – plinths, cornices, end panels and open shelves that make the kitchen feel finished rather than “changed”.
We’ll guide you through these decisions so the end result looks intentional, not pieced together.
