What homeowners buy
Most kitchens do not need replacing. The units are sound, the layout works, and the whole thing has simply started to look tired. Replacing it means £15,000 to £30,000 and a fortnight of building work in the middle of the house.
We change the doors, the worktops, the sink, the taps and the handles, and most kitchens are finished in two or three days.
Every kitchen is assessed first and the existing units have to be suitable.

What you run locally
You are our Kitchen Consultant for your area, and the business there is yours. The consultation is already in your diary. You sit down with the customer, show them what their kitchen could look like, measure up and price it on our system while you are there.
When the order comes in you book one of your local fitters. The materials arrive at your storage container, and you keep an eye on the job until it is finished.

Trading in Wakefield
Elite. Wakefield
Dan Smith spent years as a kitchen salesman, selling makeovers for somebody else. He took the first Elite Kitchen Makeovers area, in Wakefield, and the business he sells for is now his own.
Request the prospectus“I’d spent years sitting at people’s kitchen tables doing this job for somebody else. I knew the product, and I knew customers wanted it. What’s different now is that the diary is filled for me, and every kitchen I do is building my own business rather than someone else’s.”

Frequently asked questions
Do I need experience in kitchens or installation?
No. Four weeks of training covers the product and the consultation, two at our factories and two out on real consultations in your own area with someone beside you. It suits people who have sold face to face before, in any industry.
Do I need premises?
No shop or showroom is required. You work from home and the materials go into a storage container.
Who does the fitting?
Local fitters you find and book job by job. They are paid per job at a rate that keeps the good ones working with you, and finding them is part of your training.
What does it cost to run?
Six per cent of what you sell. The rest of the running costs are covered at the territory presentation, where we go through the whole financial model with you.
How do people pay for it?
Some use savings. The government-backed Start Up Loans scheme offers loans of up to £25,000 per person at a fixed rate, with free mentoring, subject to eligibility, affordability and credit checks. Other loan and credit facilities may also be available. We are happy to point you towards the options.
How much will I earn?
We do not publish earnings figures, because they depend on the area and on you. At the territory presentation, after your first call, we take you through the full financial model for your own area. You can also speak to Dan, our Wakefield franchisee, about his own figures.
Which areas are available?
Request the prospectus and tell us where you would like to work, and we will confirm whether that area is available.
What is an explorer day?
A day at our Hull factory where you see the doors and worktops being made, meet the people who would support you and hear how the business runs. Dan is usually there. We hold them at least twice a month.
